What is Nursyz.com?

Hospitals and all the variety of workplaces nurses may apply for work claim the same thing: their facility or agency is the best out there in terms of compensation, atmosphere, benefits, etc.  But as it often turns out, the thrill of getting hired stops at the orientation process.   From then on, it becomes apparent  there is a big disparity between management claims and the reality on the floor.  Everyday, nurses have to contend with unsafe staffing ratios, unfair labor practices, indifferent superiors, to name only a few. It is a matter of survival and possesing the ability to "take it all in" in order to stay on the job.

This website was borne out of that realization.  It is a nursing initiative aimed foremost to evaluate workplace environment and settings by nurses themselves. It does not claim to answer all job-related nursing woes but certainly, it is a starting point towards an informed decision.  Since inputs come from nurses whose identities are protected by Nursyz.com, the results will yield a unique perspective, subjective and colored of course but one that is less likely fettered by corporatism and political motivation.

Nursyz.com also provides comprehensive online resources that are vital to a nursing career.  Nurses will find links that are of special interest  to them.

Nursyz is a tool created by nurses for nurses. If by chance hospitals and administration take notice of the results and do whatever they feel they need to do on their own side of the fence, that is their right and decision to make. Ours is to provide a venue for nurses to express and expose what is in their hearts and minds as they continue to advocate for their patients as well as themselves.
